What's New in Interior Design

Twice a year, High Point, NC, showcases the newest in home furnishing and accessories. Interior designers, furniture stores, and design shops preview products and styles available in design.

The Hottest Looks

Trends come and go. However, great style lasts for decades. So some of the newest styles are looks that we have seen before. Although, with a twist. The "Black and White" theme was strong. We have seen on tabletops and the frames of consoles—the use of different types of glass colors too. In addition, to black glass, hand-etched glass, and fusion glass.

Wood Themes and Mixing Metals

Shown was a natural and organic design style. As in this primitive-style wood-cut console—the look of the console front with carved doors and interior and exterior details. Also, the wood finishes are getting warmer—using blonde wood, rich browns, ebony, and burled wood. The feeling was natural, biophilic, and organic with live edge tables. They mix metals naturally. In addition, we see brass with brushed nickel. Black Metals with gold were very popular.

Color is Back- Blue is the New Neutral

The color blue has become the new neutral. There is a reason blue everyone's favorite color. However, green is making a big splash. The color green is a restful and relaxing color for the human eye to view. In addition, green symbolizes nature and the natural world. It represents tranquility. For instance, green pairs well with blue, gold, tan, gray, and cream.
