As a summer New York resident. One of the highlights in the summer is visiting a Hampton Showhouse. The Hamptons are on eastern Long Island’s South Fork. This year I visited Holiday House Hamptons founded by Iris Dankner. She is an interior designer and breast cancer survivor. She created The Holiday House. As a result of a lack of high profile interior design events in New York City benefiting women’s issues. Holiday House became the first designer showhouse in NYC to benefit a breast cancer organization. After that, Holiday House has expanded to host Holiday House Hamptons during the summer months. This year’s house showcases summer living and entertaining at it’s best!

Contemporary Design seen Visiting a Hampton Showhouse
One thing that must be noted. Throughout the Hampton showhouse, was the move towards contemporary design. Similarly, I have noticed that interior design is moving towards contemporary aesthetics in Naples FL too. (Which is where I also have a design firm.) With the clean lines and open concept homes in new construction. Contemporary has become the design of choice in most upscale homes.

Contemporary Artwork at a Hampton Showhouse
Abstract modern and contemporary artwork. For instance, was incorporated into several of the designer’s rooms. Also, the blue contemporary artwork in the living room was one of my personal favorites. I could see this contemporary artwork working really well in a coastal or a transitional design project.

The artwork of all mediums was used throughout the house. For instance, in the solarium was this magnificent natural modern art. As a result, it showcased the pool beautifully.

Zen meets Hamptons Design
Another design choice “Zen”. In other words, a peaceful vibe. In the master bedroom design. For instance, a calm restful color palette with soft design lines. It also included a seating area for lounging.

Neutral color scheme. In addition to contemporary lighting. The artwork balance this breakfast room design.

Pops of Summer Color
Summer is about color. As a result, the cabana did not disappoint! Bold bright turquoise, lime green, and yellow. For instance, a colorful color scheme was predominant in the whole whimsical design.
