Accessories are Jewelry for the Room

Designing a room starts with the floor plan. Okay, you’ve chosen the perfect sofa, chairs, tables, and lighting. However, rooms come to life when the accessories are placed. Accessories are Jewelry for the Room.

Where to add Accessories

Places to add accessories would be the coffee table and any side tables. However, plants and silk flowers give a room some life. Similarly, think about including some greenery in your rooms. Also, on a relaxing den sofa, a cozy throw is the perfect accessory for those cool winter evenings.

Drapery Hardware are like Jewelry Accessories for Windows

A place often overlooked is the drapery hardware. In other words, custom drapery hardware is like adding your favorite piece of jewelry to a little black dress to complete the look.

Can there Ever be too many Pillows?

We all love pillows! They add color and texture to the sofa. Also, they add a much-needed spot to rest your arm when lounging on the sofa. However, when is it too many pillows? In my professional opinion for a 90″ sofa no more then five pillows is the perfect amount.

Working with the Rule of Three

When you set out to create a grouping of accessories. Think about the Rule of Three. Start by creating odd-numbered arrangements. Above all, I like working with one, three or five pieces. However, sometimes with a larger space, like a mantel or long shelf requires a bigger arrangement to decorate the space.

Artwork is an Accessory

Don’t forget about adding the artwork to your walls. For instance, a painting or any framed art are accessories. But also consider a gallery wall of family photos as a wonderful way of displaying your treasured moments.
